Taryn shares her passion for fitness coaching and influencer work while balancing her dedicated mother and wife roles. She discusses her fitness app and how she manages her busy schedule with two young children.

She emphasizes the importance of prioritizing self-care and involving her family in her healthy lifestyle, offering valuable advice for other mothers striving for balance.

 

Taryn, what inspired you to pursue fitness coaching and influencer work, and how do you balance these roles?

I was inspired to begin fitness coaching because I wanted to help others achieve their best self! I had gotten into bodybuilding/bikini competing and felt healthy, confident, and happy, and I wanted others to feel the same.

Currently, I have my fitness app and help others virtually.My main priorities are my children and my husband. So, I only take on a few clients at a time to give them my best while not stretching myself too thin at home.

Can you share some insights into your approach to paid brand collaborations and sponsorships?

I love working with brands that align with me and my goals/morals. Currently, my page is more about family/health / and fun! If a brand reaches out to me and wants to collaborate with me, I first check to make sure it makes sense to work together and that our pages align. If so, then we chat about how a partnership together can work to help each other flourish. 

Tell us more about your fitness app and how you utilize it to coach your clients.

My fitness app caters to any and every person looking to take control of their health and wellness. I make custom plans for every single one of my clients, depending on their own goals. I include workouts, nutrition, and daily habits! 

I also check in with each client at least once a week. I will also do if a client needs me to check on them more often. 

With your busy schedule, how do you prioritise work and family, especially with a 2-year-old daughter and a newborn baby boy?

I write out each day what I need to get done. It really helps me to write stuff down to get it out of my head and onto paper where I can read It and see it. lol! It helps me a lot. I also make sure to do fun activities with my kids every day. 

Park days, reading stories, cooking together, arts and crafts! It’s a lot of fun and a lot of work, too, with a newborn baby. But I would not change it for the world. I love being a mother.

What strategies do you employ to maintain your mental and physical health while juggling multiple responsibilities?

I prioritize my health. I have hit the gym 4-5 days a week since I was cleared postpartum. It helps me to balance my moods, too.

If I don’t make it to the gym or at least have a walk around the block, I can feel myself losing it. LOL! I want to give my best self to my family, so I have to prioritize my health and self-care. 

It’s essential, and I tell all my clients and friends to prioritize their health and wellness to bring forth their best selves daily.  

How do you ensure that each day is enjoyable for your daughter while caring for yourself and your family’s needs?

I make sure we do fun activities daily. Crafts, cooking, playing, and making believe don’t have to be hard! Including your little ones if your activities are enjoyable for toddlers. My daughter loved to cook and clean with me.

Can you share any specific routines or activities you incorporate to foster a healthy work-life balance?

I make sure to get a daily walk-in. If the sun is shining, I love going outside and playing outdoors with my kids. 

The sun always makes everything better! Some moments can be challenging, but getting outside, taking a breath, and regulating yourself is a game changer. Don’t sweat the small things. The dishes can be done later, lol. 

As a mother and wife, what challenges have you faced in prioritizing your well-being, and how have you overcome them?

Sometimes, it is hard to get out of the house for self-care. However, I have an incredible husband who makes sure I do. 

He helps me every single day with the kiddos so that I can take care of myself and bring my best self to my entire family.

How do you involve your family in your fitness journey and lifestyle choices?

Ever since I was pregnant with my first, I prioritised being at the gym and going on walks. When Krystalynn popped out, she went to the gym with me, and we went on daily walks together. 

We make sure to have daily outdoor fun together to get our energy out and fresh air. Showing your children how to care for themselves and your wellbeing is essential. Going for walks, making nutritious food together, and smiling daily are important!     

Could you share any advice for other mothers looking to maintain a healthy lifestyle while balancing various commitments?

It is not selfish to take care of YOU! Make sure you carve out time every single day to pour into yourself. 

It’s essential for yourself AND your family. If you need help, get a coach and/or accountability partner that you trust and who will check in on you to ensure you’re okay!

What are your aspirations for the future, both in terms of your career in fitness coaching and influencer work and your role as a mother and wife?

My main goal is to be the best mother and wife every day. I would also like to have more children in the future. 

First, we will see how it goes with two lol!) I would love to continue to take on clients to help them with their journey and work with brands that align with me and my family. Every day, I strive to make it the BEST day possible for everyone in my life.
