FEMEST Corrections & Complaints Policy
Last Updated: September 2026
1. Our Approach
FEMEST is a global women’s magazine headquartered in London. We aim to publish content responsibly and maintain appropriate editorial standards across our platforms.
We recognise that errors, disagreements or concerns may occasionally arise. This policy explains how requests for corrections and complaints relating to FEMEST editorial content are considered.
2. Requesting a Correction
If you believe an article published by FEMEST contains a significant factual error, you may contact our editorial team and request a review.
Please provide:
- the title or URL of the relevant article;
- the specific statement you believe is inaccurate;
- an explanation of why you believe it is inaccurate; and
- supporting information or documentation where appropriate.
Providing clear information helps our editorial team assess the matter efficiently.
3. Interviews and Interviewee-Supplied Information
FEMEST regularly publishes interviews, profiles and Q&A features based on information supplied directly by interviewees.
Statements relating to an interviewee’s personal experiences, opinions, career, achievements, qualifications, business activities or other matters may be published based on information provided by the interviewee or their authorised representative.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, publication does not mean that FEMEST has independently investigated, verified or endorsed every statement made by an interviewee.
Where a complaint relates to information supplied directly by an interviewee, FEMEST may refer the disputed information back to the interviewee or their representative for clarification.
FEMEST may request supporting information where appropriate but is not responsible for independently establishing the accuracy of every personal or professional claim supplied during an interview.
4. Editing of Interviews
Interview responses may be edited for grammar, spelling, length, formatting, readability, clarity and house style.
FEMEST aims not to intentionally alter the substance or intended meaning of an interviewee’s response.
If an interviewee believes editing has materially changed the meaning of something they communicated, they may contact FEMEST and identify the specific passage for review.
5. Contributor and Opinion Content
FEMEST publishes columns, commentary, expert contributions and other opinion-led content.
Opinions expressed by contributors, columnists and interviewees are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of FEMEST.
A disagreement with an individual’s opinion will not ordinarily constitute grounds for a correction unless the content also contains a material factual error or raises another significant editorial concern.
6. How FEMEST Reviews Complaints
When a substantive complaint is received, FEMEST may review:
- the published article;
- original interview responses or communications where available;
- information supplied by contributors or representatives;
- relevant supporting evidence;
- the context in which the disputed statement appears; and
- any applicable editorial or legal considerations.
FEMEST may contact the complainant, writer, interviewee or another relevant party where additional information is required.
7. Corrections and Updates
Where FEMEST determines that a significant factual error has been published, we may correct or update the relevant content.
Depending on the circumstances, FEMEST may:
- correct the relevant information;
- add clarification or additional context;
- update the article;
- add an editorial note where appropriate; or
- remove material where there is a sufficient reason to do so.
Minor spelling, grammar, formatting, styling or typographical changes may be made without a formal correction notice.
8. Requests to Change or Remove Interviews
Publication of an interview does not create an automatic right for the interviewee or their representative to substantially rewrite or remove the article after publication.
FEMEST will consider legitimate requests relating to factual inaccuracies, privacy, legal concerns, safety or other significant circumstances.
Requests based solely on a change of preference, branding, professional positioning or dissatisfaction with previously supplied answers will be considered at FEMEST’s editorial discretion.
Where substantial amendments are requested to commercial content after publication, additional terms or charges may apply in accordance with the relevant commercial agreement.
9. Complaints From Third Parties
Individuals or organisations who are not the subject of an article may also raise concerns where they believe published content materially affects them.
FEMEST may request evidence establishing the nature of the concern and the complainant’s connection to the disputed material.
Where a complaint concerns a statement made by an interviewee or contributor about a third party, FEMEST may seek clarification from the person responsible for that statement.
10. Commercial Content
Complaints concerning sponsored articles, paid interviews, partnerships or other commercial features will be considered under this policy alongside the FEMEST Commercial Content, Partnerships & Paid Features Policy.
Payment for content does not prevent FEMEST from correcting, amending or removing material where a significant editorial or legal issue arises.
11. Right of Reply
Where appropriate, FEMEST may offer an individual or organisation a reasonable opportunity to provide clarification or a response concerning material in which they are significantly referenced.
Whether a response is published, and the format in which it appears, remains an editorial decision.
12. Abusive or Repeated Complaints
FEMEST welcomes genuine concerns and constructive communication.
However, FEMEST may limit or discontinue correspondence that becomes threatening, abusive, harassing, repetitive or does not raise a substantive new issue after a matter has already been appropriately reviewed.
13. How to Contact FEMEST
Correction requests and editorial complaints should be submitted to FEMEST through the contact details provided on our website.
Please include “Editorial Complaint” or “Correction Request” in the subject line where possible and provide sufficient information for us to identify the relevant publication.
We aim to acknowledge substantive complaints within a reasonable period and review them as promptly as circumstances allow.
14. Editorial Discretion
FEMEST considers correction and complaint requests individually.
Submitting a complaint does not automatically require FEMEST to amend or remove content. Decisions will take into account the nature of the concern, available information, editorial standards and any relevant legal obligations.
Where appropriate, FEMEST reserves the right to seek professional or legal advice before responding to or acting upon a complaint.
15. Our Commitment
FEMEST believes credible publishing requires both editorial independence and accountability.
We take genuine concerns about our content seriously and aim to address significant errors fairly while protecting the integrity of our journalism, contributors and interview process.
