She’s not slowing down, she’s rising. At 53, Jetty Nieuwenhuis is helping women rediscover power, beauty, and purpose in aging. Her story is one of reinvention, truth, and bold self-expression.
Jetty Nieuwenhuis is not aging quietly. She’s aging loudly, unapologetically, and entirely on her own terms. As a Canadian speaker, model, and founder of Ageless in Canada, Jetty has become a powerful voice for women who refuse to let age define their worth. At 53, she is not just breaking the mold, she is redesigning it.
From a young age in the Netherlands, Jetty felt the sting of judgment. Labeled the “dirty farm girl,” “not smart enough,” or “too outspoken,” she grew up as the fifth-born child an “oopsie baby” learning that life was something to struggle through. She didn’t just grow up. She fought to be seen.
With comfort absent at home, she turned to food. That marked the beginning of a long, silent struggle with disordered eating a struggle that would last over two decades.
What happens when the thing that soothes you is also the thing that breaks you?
Her journey is not a highlight reel it’s a survival story turned empowerment anthem. After battling bulimia, Lyme disease, and depression, Jetty began to peel away the exhausting layers of people-pleasing. It took decades to silence the inner critic and discover who she truly was not for others, but for herself.
When she emigrated to Canada in 2002, she wasn’t just moving countries. She was reclaiming her future. Surrounded by wild landscapes and a fresh start, Jetty gave herself permission to build a life outside of society’s expectations.
Today, she uses her story messy, radiant, real as a message. As a speaker, model, and content creator, Jetty speaks boldly about invisible illness, identity, aging, and worth. She doesn’t speak from perfection; she speaks from truth.
Why are women still taught to disappear with age?
Jetty refuses to. Through her brand, TruJetty, she invites women to step forward wrinkles, wisdom, wants and all. She challenges the myth that beauty fades with time because her glow is louder than ever. She embraces contradictions: fashion over 40, beauty without heavy edits, having enough yet still dreaming bigger.
For 18 years, she’s lived on a dairy farm in Alberta with her husband a life that’s equal parts grounded and glamorous. In between early mornings and open skies, she makes space for style, self-expression, and the stories women are too often told to hide.
She’s also a certified health and wellness coach, makeup artist, image consultant, and has completed two IronMan triathlons.
A multi-passionate woman who has lived many lives and continues to evolve.
Jetty’s message has reached far beyond her mountain home. She has partnered with SkinCeuticals, NYDJ, SkinClinics, Noize, and Hilton, and serves as the Canadian Ambassador for Ageless in Seattle. From major brand campaigns to podcasts, panels, and TV appearances, her presence is both magnetic and meaningful.
But behind the public image is a woman rooted in something deeper: freedom. Freedom from shame. Freedom from timelines. Freedom from the belief that we are too late, too loud, or too much.
Jetty Nieuwenhuis is not following trends she’s building a movement. One that calls women to rise, glow, and take up space in every season of life.
Because age is not the end of the story. With Jetty, it’s only the beginning.
