In Conversation With Jules Schroeder

Redefining Success– Jules Schroeder’s Bold Transformation Through Tragedy and Triumph

Jules Schroeder’s journey from chasing conventional success to embracing authenticity was sparked by a wakeboarding accident and a near-death experience. These moments reshaped her definition of success, leading her to prioritize purpose, alignment, and creativity. Today, she channels her passions into music and community-building, inspiring others to live fully and authentically.

Can you share a bit about your journey leading up to the wakeboarding accident that changed your life?

Before the accident, my life was a high-speed chase toward “success.” I had built multiple seven-figure companies and was checking all the boxes society told me I needed to achieve.

But deep down, I felt unfulfilled—disconnected from myself and the purpose that truly made me come alive. It was like I was living someone else’s version of success, hustling to keep up with an identity that didn’t feel authentic to who I was.

The wakeboarding accident became the wake-up call I never saw coming, forcing me to slow down and reevaluate everything.

What was the moment like when you realized you wanted to live with a deeper sense of purpose and authenticity?

That moment came during my near-death experience in the hospital. I was out of my body, having a conversation with what I can only describe as a higher presence, asking me if I wanted to stay or go.

When I chose to stay, it wasn’t just about surviving—it was about living fully and intentionally.

I woke up with an undeniable clarity: life is too short to settle for anything less than what lights you up. It became a commitment to myself to live in alignment with my truth and create from that space.

How did the near-death experience impact your perspective on success and fulfillment?

It completely rewired my definition of success. Before, I thought success was about metrics—revenue, recognition, and doing more.

After the accident, I realized success is about alignment, impact, and living in resonance with your unique gifts. It’s not about what you do, but how alive and connected you feel while doing it.

You’ve described feeling trapped by societal definitions of success before the accident. How has your understanding of success evolved since then?

I’ve learned that success isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s deeply personal and ever-evolving. Today, success is about being fully expressed, creating from a place of flow, and designing a life that feels meaningful—not just impressive.

It’s about tapping into what makes you feel most alive and allowing that energy to ripple out into the world.

What were some of the first steps you took toward embracing a multi-passionate life after your recovery?

The first step was giving myself permission to pursue what truly excited me, even if it didn’t make sense on paper. I started creating music again, traveling to places that inspired me, and letting curiosity lead the way.

I also leaned into building community—connecting with others who were also challenging traditional paths and carving their own. It was about saying “yes” to what felt alive in the moment and trusting it would all come together.

You’re launching a new music project and stepping into your career as Jules King. Can you tell us more about it?

Yes! After working in Vancouver, Colorado, and other places, I decided to take back my mom’s maiden name and step fully into my music as Jules King.

I’ve spent the past year and a half writing in Nashville with incredible songwriters and talent, and I’m thrilled to be releasing my first single in March 2025.

My music explores themes of purpose, self-connection, and faith, reflecting my journey of aligning with God and trusting divine timing. I can’t wait to share it with the world.

You founded Unconventional Life to connect entrepreneurs and thought leaders. What inspired you to create this platform, and how has it grown over time?

Unconventional Life was born out of my desire to create a space where people could explore what’s possible when they step outside societal norms and live life on their own terms. It started with a podcast and has evolved into a global movement, with bucket-list retreats, masterclasses, and a thriving community.

Over the years, it’s become a platform for connection, inspiration, and transformation—helping people design lives and businesses that truly reflect their values and vision.

Unconventional Life events blend adventure, wellness, and business strategies. Can you tell us how these elements come together to support attendees?

Adventure ignites creativity and gets people out of their comfort zones, wellness helps them reconnect with their inner wisdom and business strategies provide the tools to turn ideas into action.

By combining these elements, we create a holistic experience that empowers attendees to align their inner and outer worlds. It’s about leaving with not just insights, but also the clarity and energy to take bold steps forward.

Your events are hosted in extraordinary locations around the world. How do these settings contribute to the transformative experiences you aim to offer?

The locations are intentional—they’re designed to disrupt routine and awaken a sense of wonder. Whether it’s the serene landscapes of a Blue Zone or the rugged beauty of a remote island, these places hold a unique energy that encourages reflection, connection, and growth.

The environment becomes a catalyst for transformation, helping attendees access deeper levels of creativity and possibility. Our next Signature 5-day life and business accelerator is coming up May 22-26th in the Amazone in Peru. We have a group of 50 coming together and it is going to be incredible!

What have been some of the most memorable moments or breakthroughs you’ve witnessed during these events?

I’ve seen attendees make life-changing decisions—leaving unfulfilling careers, starting passion projects, and taking bold leaps into the unknown with newfound confidence—after a single session. What’s incredible is how time seems to compress at these events.

What might normally take months or even years unfolds in a matter of days, sometimes even moments. I call this creating in the nonlinear world, where transformation doesn’t follow a predictable A-to-Z timeline but instead happens instantaneously when the right energy, environment, and alignment converge.

One moment that stands out was during our Japan retreat, where an attendee reconnected with her passion for art after years of suppressing it.

By the end of the week, she had not only committed to pursuing it full-time but also landed her first gallery collaboration—something she had been putting off for over a decade.

When you step into this nonlinear space, opportunities move toward you with surprising speed, and what once felt impossible suddenly becomes inevitable.

You’ve recently launched the Pink Lemon Agency with your sisters. How does this new venture align with your overall mission of empowerment and transformation?

Pink Lemon Agency is about helping entrepreneurs amplify their voices and bring their visions to life. It’s an extension of my mission to empower others to show up fully and unapologetically in the world.

We’re providing the creative tools—branding, marketing, and messaging—that allow women to own their authority and create impact at scale.

Music has been a significant part of your journey. How does your passion for music inform your personal and professional life today?

Music is my outlet for self-expression and connection. It keeps me grounded, reminds me of the beauty in simplicity, and helps me tap into flow states.

Professionally, it’s a bridge—whether I’m performing or integrating it into my events, music creates a shared language that connects people on a deeper level.

Through Women Gone Wild, you advocate for women’s empowerment. What do you believe is the most powerful aspect of uniting women with purpose and authenticity?

When women come together in purpose and authenticity, it creates an unstoppable ripple effect. The most powerful aspect is the permission it gives others to do the same.

It’s about breaking cycles of limitation and redefining what’s possible—not just for ourselves, but for the generations to come.

With a focus on community-building and shared values, how do you ensure that your networks remain supportive and aligned with your vision?

It starts with clarity—being intentional about the values we uphold and the energy we bring to the table. From there, it’s about cultivating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered.

Alignment happens naturally when you lead with authenticity and create environments where collaboration and growth thrive.

As you look toward the future, what new projects or initiatives are you excited about exploring in 2025 and beyond?

I’m thrilled about what’s ahead in 2025, especially the release of Women Gone Wild: The Leadership Edition. This book is going to be a powerful and empowering resource for women across the globe, filled with inspiring stories and unique perspectives on leadership.

I can’t wait to see all the incredible authors step into their voices and share their journeys. I’m also beyond excited for our upcoming Unconventional Life event in the Amazon Rainforest—our next adventure into a truly remote and awe-inspiring location.

It’s going to be an unforgettable experience, blending deep connection, exploration, and the kind of magic that happens when we immerse ourselves in nature and community.

“Jules Schroeder’s story is a powerful reminder that true success comes from living authentically and embracing purpose over perfection. Her journey encourages us all to redefine success on our own terms, finding meaning in every moment”
