For too long, finding a stylish pair of heels has meant compromising on fit. SIX INCH Footwear is challenging that idea.
Finding a pair of heels should be about choosing the style you love, not wondering whether your feet will fit. For women with wider feet, that choice has often meant giving up either comfort or style.
For Perth-based founder Maja Banjac, the problem was personal.
After years of struggling to find fashionable heels that worked for her feet, Maja began to question an assumption she had carried for years. Maybe her feet were not the problem. Maybe the shoes were.
That thought became the starting point for SIX INCH Footwear, an Australian brand founded in 2023 for women with wider feet who have long been overlooked by mainstream fashion. SIX INCH creates the styles women actually want to wear, shaped solely for wider feet. Rather than treating wide fit as an extra option, SIX INCH has made it the foundation of its approach.

Why SIX INCH Exists
Maja did not start the brand because she saw a business opportunity. She started because she could not find the shoes she wanted for herself.
“SIX INCH wasn’t born out of a corporate business plan. It started because I couldn’t find a single pair of heels that fit me, and after years of assuming my feet were the problem, I realized the shoes were.”
Her experience also challenged another common idea: that wide feet belong to one particular type of woman.
“Women of any age, and size, can have wide feet.”
That belief sits at the centre of SIX INCH. The brand is focused on giving women with wider feet more choice, without asking them to settle for a style they do not really want.
The philosophy is summed up on the brand’s website: “Other brands include you, but SIX INCH was made for you.”

Designed Around the Foot
For SIX INCH, the difference starts before a shoe reaches the customer.
Instead of taking a narrow shoe and simply making it wider, the brand custom-commissions its own lasts. The three-dimensional moulds that shape the proportions of a shoe around wider E-width proportions.
The brand’s approach considers wider proportions, balanced toe shapes and the way straps sit across the foot, with every design tested and refined through the sampling process by Maja herself before release.
The goal is not to hide the fact that the shoes are made for wider feet. It is to make that fit feel like part of the design from the beginning.
Spring/Summer 2026
SIX INCH’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection brings the brand’s wide-fit approach into a lighter, summer-focused direction. Inspired by the ease of summer, the collection is being released in stages, beginning with the Valore Mule in new season colourways, including white and beige. Later releases will introduce new silhouettes of modern thong heels, wedges, and kitten heels, all designed around effortless summer dressing, combining timeless neutrals with vibrant pops of colour and print.
The collection feels relaxed and easy, while staying true to the reason the brand exists: giving women with wider feet the freedom to choose footwear because they love the style, not simply because it fits.

Built by a Consumer, for the Consumer
Maja’s own route into footwear was far from traditional. She launched SIX INCH without prior industry experience or formal footwear qualifications, teaching herself about footwear design and manufacturing while continuing to work a full-time corporate 9-to-5 career.
That self-taught journey has become part of the brand’s character.
SIX INCH describes its approach as “built by a consumer, for the consumer” a simple idea that reflects how the business began. Maja was searching for something she could not find, so she decided to create it herself.
Since launching, her founder story has also built a strong online following, with more than 922,000 views on TikTok. Behind those numbers is a community of women who recognise the frustration that inspired the brand in the first place.
A Bigger Vision
For Maja, SIX INCH is about more than creating another footwear label.
It is about changing the idea that women with wider feet should have fewer choices. Instead of asking them to filter through standard collections and hope something works, the brand wants them to start with the styles they actually love.
That thinking is captured in another simple message from the brand:
“Shop without the ‘wide fit’ filter.”
It is a small change in the way we think about shopping, but it points to a much bigger idea: fit should be part of good design, not a reason to compromise on it.
Maja’s journey began with a problem she knew personally. She wanted stylish heels that fitted her, but could not find them. She chose not to accept that as the answer.
Now, as SIX INCH continues to roll out its Spring/Summer 2026 collection , the brand is continuing to build footwear around women who have not always felt represented by mainstream fashion.
The story is simple, but the idea is powerful: wide feet should never mean smaller choices.
